We would like to take this
opportunity to introduce ourselves and talk briefly about Kopico, Inc. In 1962 Jess Chico,
as one of two original partners, started operations out of a storefront on South Ashland
Avenue. The company suffered through the usual hardships of a new business and many
troubled economies, but with a persistent client base development and a tenacious work
ethic, Kopico has grown from 3 employees to 30. Throughout the past 35 years, our gross
revenues have increased over 1,000 percent. |

Mr. Chico took over
sole ownership of the company in 1973. He incorporated and continued moving forward. We
have moved from that storefront and now own a 30,000 sq. ft. building in Chicago's Central
Manufacturing District. We are continuously adding to our equipment and technology to
adapt to customer needs and time constraints. Years of diligence and experience have
resulted in a distinguished and extensive client base. Some of that client base consists
of People Gas, Light and Coke Co., AT&T, Cook County of Illinois, The United States
Postal Service, Chicago Transit Authority, City of Chicago, Ameritech, Blue Cross Blue
Shield, Wallace Computer Services, WGBO Univision, The Chicago White Sox and numerous
other private companies.
In our printing operation, we are capable of design and layout, state-of-the-art
computerized typesetting and desktop publishing, complete dark room operation, 1-4 color
impressions, and extensive bindery processes. We print business cards, letterheads,
envelopes, invoices, brochures, and much more.
Kopico, Inc. is certified ad an MBE/DBE with the City of Chicago, Cook County, RTA, CTA,
State of Illinois, Chicago Minority Business Development Council and the Chicago Public
Schools. We have bid and won many contacts with these institutions and participated as a
subcontractor with many larger corporations.
